This will allow you good flexibility in being able to get the carrier out of the way when you need to access your van's cargo area. Two things to keep in mind here is that the maximum capacity is 250 lbs. and when using the pivot your hitches cpapcity is reduced by 50 %. That is correct, you need to run a 12V wire for a 4-way like the # 118553 to power the converter box, as well as a 2nd 12V power wire for the 7-way # ETBC7. You cannot do this with a single wire. There are different power requirements for each, and you would likely overdraw the wiring harness and damage the converter. Running both wires is necessary and ensures everything works as intended.
